Water Quality Grants

KC Water created the Water Quality Small Grant Program to help fund projects and activities related to water quality protection, improvement, and education within the city limits of Kansas City, Missouri. The Grant Program is implemented through Overflow Control Program funds set aside for water quality public education and outreach. A minimum of $75,000 is available each year to non-profit organizations and their partners with grant funding capped at $25,000 per organization. Applications for the program are due in January of each year.

The goal of the grant program to improve water quality in our streams, lakes, and rivers, through a reduction in the amount of stormwater, and the contaminants it can carry, entering the combined and separate sewer systems; improve public knowledge of the effect human activities on water quality; and create behavior change within the community to protect water resources and associated infrastructure.
