KC Water Services Has Located Cause of Low Water Pressure Issues in South Kansas City; Normal Pressure Restored

Posted on March 18, 2015

(Kansas City, MO) – KC Water Services has located the cause of the water distribution issue that created lower than normal water pressure for customers located in South Kansas City (south of 75th Street). The cause was a break on a 16” water main located east of the intersection of Troost Avenue and Bannister Road. Crews are on site and normal water pressure has been restored to customers. While it is too early to determine whether a boil water advisory will be necessary, for customers that experienced lower than normal water pressure, it is encouraged that water pipes are flushed by letting the water run from the tap for a few minutes. We thank our customers for their patience as we worked to restore water service.
