(Kansas City, Mo.) – KC Water responded to a wastewater overflow near 10951 N. Congress Ave. on Thursday, May 25 at 3:40 p.m. The overflow was the result of a broken 18” sewer main and did reach state waters. The overflow ended at 7:30 p.m. the same day and resulted in 2,300 gallons of wastewater being discharged into Second Creek.
Repair crews implemented bypass pumping and started replacing the sewer main. The main will be encased in concrete to prevent future damage.
