(Kansas City, Mo.) – This week KC Water joined dozens of exhibitors at Bartle Hall to introduce local high school students to careers in the utility industry and public service with the Career Expo 2017.
Leaders from the City of Kansas City, Missouri; Jackson County, Missouri; Johnson County, Kansas; and the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas; and Mid-America Regional Council hosted the event. The goal is to introduce students to jobs that are projected to be in high demand over the next five to 10 years.
KC Water employees set up the Royals street sweeper, stormwater Plinko, a valve turning and fire hydrant demonstration, leak inspection activities, and showed students a hands-on example of pervious concrete.
The students who attended are from high schools across the region.
