KC Water Alerts Drivers of Road Closure Due to Water Main Repair

(Kansas City, Mo.) – Work to repair a leaking 16” water main will require the closure of the 87th Street traffic circle on the west side of I-435.

No customers are without water service, but traffic will be restricted during repairs.

  • Traffic on Hillcrest Road west of I-435 will not have access to the interstate
  • Eastbound 87th Street will not have access to I-435 or Hillcrest Road
  • Westbound 87th Street will not have access to southbound I-435
  • Southbound I-435 will not have access to eastbound 87th street

The closure is scheduled to begin 7:30 a.m. Monday, December 19th. Weather permitting, the intersection will reopen at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21st.  During that time drivers are asked to avoid the area. Detour signs will be posted.
