(Kansas City, Mo.) – KC Water responded to a wastewater overflow near 6800 NE Parvin Road on Tuesday, September 5th at 4:50 p.m. The overflow was the result of a 21” sewer main that had separated due to erosion. The overflow ended at 8:30 p.m. the same day. More than 10,000 gallons of overflow entered a storm drainage ditch that leads to the Missouri River. Most of the overflow was redirected to the collection system by way of bypass pumping. Some overflow did reach the river.
Workers removed the broken pipe. The area will be washed down once repairs to the 21” main are complete.
